Abstract:
Lintels are beams that are put across the openings such as doors and windows. It is difficult to produce stable lightweight concrete lintel. One of the factors of high permanent load is due to concrete self weight and the continuous environmental problems, along with the decrease in number of conventional aggregates existing. Therefore, this study is important to produce stronger lintel structure by using IBS system containing LECA which replaces the coarse aggregate. LECA is lightweight aggregate made from clay. The aim of this project is to produce and analyse sustainable lintel structure which consist Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (LECA). This project will also evaluate the compressive strength and flexural strength of the lintel structure using IBS system. The concrete prepared by using the mix ratio that we have decided which is 48% and 52%. The concrete will be cure for 7, 14 and 28 days. Both compressive test and flexural strength test will be conduct on the concrete with the size of 70 mm × 100 mm × 1200 mm. The data obtained will be collected for analysis purpose. Based on the test results of the concrete, we will make a conclusion based on the strength of the concrete.
