dc.description.abstract Lintel is one of the elements in industrial building used in construction projects. Lintel is a structure where it is placed on the top of the door or window of the building with the purpose of accommodating the load of the bricks above it. It is made from a mixture of cement, stone, sand, and water. Various other alternatives that are used in the concrete mix to reduce costs include the use of palm oil shells as a replacement material for coarse aggregate. This can reduce environmental pollution in Malaysia because the process of crushing the oil palm shell is one of the processes that contribute to environmental pollution. The objective of this research is to determine the properties of palm oil shells, to study the strength of concrete cubes using palm oil shells and to produce IBS lintels using palm oil shells. The percentage of palm oil shell replacement as coarse aggregate is 5%, 10% and 15%. The compression test was performed on days 7, 14 and 28 using a cube size of 150mm x 150mm x 150mm. The size of the built lintel is 1500mm x 105mm x 70mm with a ratio of 1:2:4. The results of the study show that palm oil shells do not exceed the strength of control concrete and the use of palm oil shells in concrete is not suitable for structural concrete. The conclusion that can be obtained from this study is that the replacement of palm oil shell is not suitable to replace coarse aggregate in the concrete mix to make a mixture of building structural elements, but it can be a substitute material in the finishing mix en_US
