Abstract: The process of food drying in the east coast area is an attempt to increase daily side income. This innovation, Mini Food Dryer occured when the problem of food drying was openly contaminated with dust and disturbed by pests like flies. This study aims to speed up the drying time of food during unpredictable weather and produce cleaner and quality food. This study was conducted using the interview method in Kuala Muda and Kuala Kedah and also the observation method conducted in Pahang by drying fish. Next, for the questionnaire method, a total of 151 respondents answered the questions in the Google Form provided. The form has 10 questions regarding dry food. The findings of the study found that there are 79% of respondents agreed that this food drying product is produced to reduce the time and energy of consumers. As a result, this project can dry food more evenly and also guaranteed clean. This project is also very helpful for food producers and traders who have processed it by drying. This project uses infrared lights so that the food drying process can still be carried out on rainy days or cloudy days. This is because, infrared lamps can emit more heat and are safe to use during the food drying process. Based on the Electrical Equipment Safety Regulation, plug of Mini Food Dryer has been compliant with standard code MS1577: 2003 which is set by the Energy Commission. In additions, the lamp holders, wire and switches for Mini Food Dryer have been complied with the standard code based on Guideline for Approval of Electrical Equipment which is MS IEC 60238: 2008, MS IEC 60669-1: 2012 and also MS IEC 60669-1: 2012
